Mail.app Weirdness

I have two really weird issues with Mail.app.

First, I have two identical configurations for an IMAP account on both a MacBook Pro and the iMac at home. for some weird reason the MBP stores sent emails in the Sent IMAP folder while the iMac stores them in Sent Messages. This is rather annoying. I’ve compared the settings for these accounts and they are exactly the same. Lame.

Second, for some reason Mail.app now suddenly shows messages from my Junk folders in search results. I’m 100% sure this was never the case. Nothing has changed in my mail setup though. This is rather annoying since they pollute the normal search results greatly.

Both machines are identical. Intel, OS X 10.5.1, same updates.

Has anyone else seen this?

Select a mailbox, go to Mailbox -> Use This Mailbox For.

This sucks even more when you have several IMAP accounts, since Mail.app has rather different ideas about where things like “Sent” and “Junk” should go than I do.

Mail -> Preferences… -> General -> When searching all mailboxes, include results from: [] Junk
